About the Role
Punjab Information Technology Board is seeking a motivated and skilled Technician/Electrician to support its operational and maintenance needs in Rahim Yar Khan. This role is crucial for ensuring that all electrical systems, distribution networks, and control equipment function efficiently, safely, and without interruptions. The selected individual will work both independently and as part of a team, handling shift duties and responding promptly to operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems & Panels:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot various electrical systems, including lighting distribution boxes (Lighting DB), power distribution boards (Power DB), and lightning protection systems.
- Manage and maintain earthing systems to ensure safety compliance and prevent electrical hazards.
- Work with Load Control Panels (LCP), transformers, Load Break Switches (LBS), power switches, and electrical sockets.
Operation & Maintenance Duties:
- Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on lights, fans, motors, electrical distribution boards, LT panels, HT panels, transformers, MCC panels, and other related equipment.
- Conduct fault diagnosis and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of systems during shifts by closely monitoring performance and addressing issues as they arise.
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Take accurate monthly meter readings to record power usage and consumption trends.
- Maintain daily log reports documenting operational performance, maintenance activities, and any incidents.
Shift Work & Safety Compliance:
- Work in rotation shifts, ensuring 24/7 operational readiness of the facility’s electrical infrastructure.
- Follow safety protocols strictly and ensure all activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Provide immediate response to emergencies, electrical failures, and power fluctuations.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Minimum Secondary School Certificate (SSC) – 10 years of formal education.
- Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on experience in electrical systems maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of distribution systems, electrical safety standards, and troubleshooting techniques.
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Ability to work under pressure and manage shift-based schedules.
- Skilled in using electrical testing tools and safety equipment.
- Problem-solving skills to quickly diagnose and repair faults.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and maintenance teams.
- Attention to detail for accurate meter readings and report preparation.
